Men’s style guide: Shorts & Shoes Combinations

Show off some legs, its summer! Every man with a good sense of style will have a few pairs of shorts to see them through summer 2018. But what styles are best? And what shoes work great with shorts? Anatomic & Co cover the different styles and looks men can achieve with shorts.

Men’s Chino Shorts

Chinos lie perfectly between smart and casual, making them really easy to dress up or down. If you’re allowed to wear shorts in your working environment, these will be your go-to.

Chino shorts work best with smarter shoes like loafers. This being said, you don’t have to stay smart with them – you can partner them with a pair of casual leather trainers (avoid street trainers). White chinos work perfectly with boat shoes or loafers. Add a stripe T-shirt and some sunglasses and you’re set.

Denim shorts give you a bit more durability than other styles. They are versatile enough to pair with nearly any casual or smart-casual outfit. T-shirts work best with denim, but if you do want to add a smart-casual edge you can team them with a polo shirt.

Casual footwear will work best – everything from high-top trainers to sporty trainers. Suede laceups are an exciting alternative.

Most likely the least owned style; tailored shorts are ideal for the office or more formal outings such as a summer wedding.

Loafers and Boat shoes – work great with tailored or chino shorts – just remember to ditch the socks.

Trainers Trainers (especially white) work best with denim shorts, giving you a total casual outfit.
